To my knowledge that’s been going on for about 2 decades. I believe that it’s one reason we got the disastrous “Bloc of Four” government in Coatesville. The ordinary news media is just becoming aware of what I believe is the “Christian Reconstructionists” moving into main line Republican political committees. I wonder if “Keystone United” (skinheads) and the Pagans are going to come in and help out the GOP in Chester County in this election.
More traditional “Eisenhower Country Club Republicans” are vaguely aware that “something” is wrong about many of the Republican candidates. That’s why the Republicans lose here whenever there is a large voter turnout.
What happened to the Republican Party here is a very sad thing.

Sounds like a plan.
Very publicly make announcements that the Obama Administration is going to do nothing in regard to the Bush Administration's torture policy.
At the same time release documents that prove how very extensively torture was used and how extremely counter effective it was.
Do you think there will be a ground swell of honorable Americans demanding that the Bush Administration pay for what they did?

Long live the Regan Revolution! The one that inspired Nicky Scarfo and Oleg Deripaska.
You are going to hear “tax breaks and smaller government" from the local Republican candidates in this election. Maybe even some stuff about gay marriage, abortion and subtle racial innuendo.
The Karl Rove inspired Republican Leadership here in Chester County still talks about the Regan revolution and "trickle down supply side economics".
The original “robber baron” age ended in the previous Great Depression. We now know that trickle down and supply side are just cover for Karl Rove's dream of Republican political power. That Rovian dream of all money and power to the wealthy that mimics the "robber baron" age.
Local Republicans don’t know the “Rovian Express Train” has wrecked and gone over into the ravine. The finance systems of Europe, the United Kingdom, the Americas and most of the world went with it.
Whether it is Sicilian, Russian or Mumbai Indian; organized crime knows a good way of making (stealing) money when it sees it.
Salvatore Pelullo and Nicodemo S. Scarfo and associates were attracted by the new thing called “investment banking” and mortgage derivatives.
FirstPlus Financial Group, on the 1200 block of Bainbridge Street in South Philadelphia and Rutgers Investment Group Llc, 121 N Wayne Ave, Wayne, PA 19087-3542 are owned by associates of Nicky S. Scarfo (his dad Nicodemo "Little Nicky" Scarfo is in prison). Those companies are now at the heart of an USDoJ organized crime, financial-fraud investigation.
The Russian Mafiya was already well involved in investment banking and mortgage derivatives in the EU, UK and USA before Scarfo got started. Ask John McCain’s Russian Oligarch buddy Oleg Deripaska.

Wither the Republicans?
There was once a Republican guy with the kind of tough talk that Steele has in local politics here in Coatesville. But he had a reputation as a drug dealer.
If the Republicans really want to come back they have to shed their reputation as a WASP white collar version of the Bulgarian Mafiya.
They need to go back to the country club Republicans who actually contributed to their community and their country instead of stealing from it. Stealing at an incredibly high level; stealing literally in the Trillions of dollars. So much that we are on the verge of a terrible economic depression.

Memories of the Republican Party

Swing to the Left?
It is a swing toward the middle. The Republican Party of Eisenhower died years ago. What was described by President Eisenhower as a “radical fringe element” is now the “base” of the Republican Party.

Younger persons, no matter what their political affiliation, may not realize that civic responsibility was at the core of the former, remembered Republican Party.
Desegregation began in the Eisenhower administration. I remember the “Little Rock Nine” and the photos of Army troops protecting them. The segregationists or as we called them “The Segs” were Democrats of the South.
President Nixon created the EPA and OSHA. Nixon promoted the Legacy Parks program and implemented the “Philadelphia Plan”; the very first affirmative action program.
The older registered Republicans in Chester County are clinging to the memory of the political party of their youth that has the same name but no longer exists. The Democratic Party as it now exists is nearly a mirror image of that remembered Republican Party of Country Clubs, Cadillacs and above all; civic responsibility.

Their members were some of the best campaign workers in Chester County. They helped put Barack Obama over the top in Pennsylvania.
I believe that the Republican Party of Eisenhower, country clubs, Cadillacs, patriots and civic responsibility that once was one of the pillars of Democracy in the United States has long been dead. I think that it has been usurped by a Kleptocracy of white collar criminals that uses fear and prejudice as a cover for theft.
Those of us who believe in Democracy and not the Kleptocracy of white collar criminals that I believe now constitutes the bulk of the Republican Party card carrying members are grateful for the tremendous contribution to Democracy of MoveOn.org.
It’s my understanding that Move On has 4.2 Million members that’s about 700,000 more members than the National Rifle Association.
