ITALIANS DON'T LIKE NAZIS:
‘I’m Not With The Nazis, How Bout That?’: AOC Smears Elon Musk Over Hand Gesture:
This is a still from an 8mm film of my 1st Birthday party July 26, 1944. My Uncle Fred was fighting Nazi troops across France after landing on Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944.
One Christmas night my Aunt Angelina, Aunt Martha, Uncle Lou & Uncle Fred sat at my grandmom’s kitchen table.
Uncle Lou was a sergeant in Patton's Army. He was in the Battle of the Bulge.
Uncle Fred was a combat engineer.
I said to Uncle Fred and Uncle Lou.
“Thanks for what you did.”
Uncle Fred,
“What do you mean?”
“Thanks for what you did in the war. If you didn’t do it we might all be speaking German now.
My Uncle Fred had to leave the table.
Uncle Lou said Freddy had it hard.
My Uncle Fred was a combat engineer who landed at Omaha Beach on D-Day. He kept his boots on for three months until they got to Paris. He was constantly under fire for three months.
Looking around in the attic I found black curtains. I asked my Mom, "What are these." She answered with a look of fear. They were black out curtains in case Germany bombarded Coatesville PA.
People on the Boardwalk at Atlantic City watched the fireballs of freighter ships torpedoed by U-Boats.
Japan attacked us at Pearl Harbor 4 days later Germany declared war on the United States. Americans responded by enlisting in the military. Most of the male teachers in my high school were veterans.
I grew up surrounded by the heroes of WWII.
