Welcome to the Coatesville Dems Blog

Public Corruption in Chester County, PA

I believe an unlikely mix of alleged drug trafficking related politicos and alleged white nationalist related politicos united to elect the infamous “Bloc of Four” in the abysmal voter turnout election of 2005. During their four year term the drug business was good again and white nationalists used Coatesville as an example on white supremacist websites like “Stormfront”. Strong community organization and support from law enforcement, in particular Chester County District Attorney Joseph W. Carroll has begun to turn our community around. The Chester County drug trafficking that I believe centers on Coatesville continues and I believe we still have public officials in place that profit from the drug sales. But the people here are amazing and continue to work against the odds to make Coatesville a good place to live.

(WASHINGTON) – The Teamsters will launch the largest strike against Amazon in U.S. history beginning at 6 a.m. EST on Thurs., Dec. 19. The nationwide action follows Amazon’s repeated refusal to follow the law and bargain with the thousands of Amazon workers who organized with the Teamsters.

“If your package is delayed during the holidays, you can blame Amazon’s insatiable greed. We gave Amazon a clear deadline to come to the table and do right by our members. They ignored it,” said Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien. “These greedy executives had every chance to show decency and respect for the people who make their obscene profits possible. Instead, they’ve pushed workers to the limit and now they’re paying the price. This strike is on them.”

Workers will join the picket line from DBK4 in New York City; DGT8 in Atlanta; DFX4, DAX5, and DAX8 in Southern California; DCK6 in San Francisco; and DIL7 in Skokie, Ill. Amazon Teamsters at other facilities are prepared to join them.

Teamsters local unions are also putting up primary picket lines at hundreds of Amazon Fulfillment Centers nationwide. Amazon warehouse workers and drivers without collective bargaining agreements have the legal right to honor these picket lines by withholding their labor.

“Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona and Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia on Tuesday voted not to confirm President Joe Biden‘s renomination of Lauren McFerran as member of the National Labor Relations Board. The nays from the pair of independents, who both declined to run for reelection in 2024, will block continued control of the labor regulator by Democrats — their former party, which they’ve still caucused with — and paves the way for President-elect Donald Trump‘s next administration to strip worker rights while pursuing an anti-union agenda…

Sinema, who hadn’t cast a vote in the Senate since before Thanksgiving, apparently showed up specifically to side with Republicans against McFerran’s appointment, with Manchin then arriving late to deliver the tie-breaking blow for a final tally of 49 in favor and 50 against. Had he not turned up, Vice President Kamala Harris would have presumably voted to keep McFerran on track for another term on the NLRB. Democrats in the chamber and independent Sen. Bernie Sanders had urged outgoing Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to do everything he could to ensure Democrats retained the balance of power on the board.”

“President-elect Donald Trump rolled out the red carpet for another tech bro Wednesday night, with Amazon boss Jeff Bezos spotted at Mar-a-Lago.

Bezos and fiancée Lauren Sanchez were seen sauntering into Trump’s Florida estate Wednesday night for a dinner with the incoming president. The pair walked hand in hand behind Trump and his wife, Melania, to huge cheers. They dined at a table with the Trumps.

Another guest at Mar-a-Lago posted a picture of the gathering on Instagram and claimed that Elon Musk arrived mid-dinner and sat between Bezos and Trump.

Lieba Nesis, a reporter and lawyer who took the shot, said it had seemed that Bezos was “on a mission to win Trump over” before Musk arrived unceremoniously around 50 minutes later, catching his fellow billionaire “off guard” and making him “uncomfortable like he had been c--k-blocked.”

“The tension between Musk and Bezos known rivals is palpable as they do their best to engage politely but clearly have no love for each other!” she added.

However, a person close to Bezos rebutted those claims in a chat with the Daily Beast. “There was no friction whatsoever, it was a fantastic dinner, a really great time,” they said.

Trump appeared elated with how things went, writing on Truth Social on Thursday morning: “EVERYBODY WANTS TO BE MY FRIEND!!!”

Bezos, who has donated $1 million to the Trump inauguration through Amazon, has been on frosty terms with Musk.

Musk previously wrote on X that he’d heard “Bezos was telling everyone [Trump] would lose for sure, so they should sell all their Tesla and SpaceX stock.”…

Bezos, not traditionally an ally of Trump who once called him Jeff Bozo, recently expressed excitement at Trump’s return to the White House. “I’m actually very optimistic this time around,” Bezos said at The New York Times’ DealBook Summit in New York earlier this month. “He seems to have a lot of energy around reducing regulation. If I can help do that, I’m going to help him.”

“We do have too many regulations in this country,” Bezos added.
