I FELT EXTREME PAIN. I HAD THE EXTREME PAIN FROM SPINAL INJURY.
My belly looked like a basketball. I WALKED into emergency at Brandywine Hospital in Coatesville PA with a perforated colon from diverticulitis.
I had sepsis, in the process of death my liver and other organs had begun to shut down. I was prepped for surgery. Someone told me that if I had not come into the hospital now I would be dead in a few hours.
I had laparoscopic surgery.
About 18 months later back for surgery to reverse, re-attach, my colon. After a few weeks in the hospital I was to go home the next day.
I developed a high fever and can only remember my surgeon saying, “We found a large puss ball in your upper abdomen. I’m sorry.”
It was a hospital acquired erythromycin resistant bacteria infection (ERE). The ERE was in the bed frames & room corners at Brandywine Hospital.
BACK INTO SURGERY THEY COMPLETELY OPENED MY BELLY, turned me on my side. washed my intestines & abdominal cavity, removed a second 6 inch piece of large intestine and put me back together.
I gained 37 pounds of water.
I was in the hospital about one month. About 2 weeks with a tube down my esophagus extracting abdominal fluids. The nurses commented on my jovial disposition. Two years later my family doctor said, “You know that no one in the hospital thought you would live.”
DURING THE ENTIRE TIME I DID NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT PAIN. MY SURGON DIDN’T BELIEVE THAT I WALKED INTO THE HOSPITAL. HE SAID MOST PEOPLE COME IN SCREAMING ON A GURNEY.
I KNOW WHAT REAL PAIN FEELS LIKE. IT’S THE PAIN LUIGI MANGIONE FELT.
I was a dental technician. Dental technicians love the work they do. A UPS driver looked at us tor a minute and said, “You guys are making model airplanes.”
Walking from the parking lot to work my legs gave way. I managed to get up and walk into work but my legs gave way again. I had to lie on the floor until my wife could bring me home.
Joe Cassidy at work walked by and said. “Hi Matt.”
It was a fun place to work. We received complaints, “Too much laughter. This is a professional building.”
I had spinal cord stenosis in my neck. It was from looking down for years at work.
I spent several months of of delay & denial from my health insurance before I could get an MRI and be evaluated by a neurosurgeon.
Paul J. Marcotte, MD scheduled surgery 6 days later for laminectomy of 4 cervical vertebrae. It was emergency surgery. They were concerned I would lose control of my bowel.
After surgery no amount of morphine or fentanyl could relieve the pain. My wife said I was grey. I looked like a corpse.
As they told me later, I got a “sunroof.” They didn’t expect me to walk. But I got excellent full body and mind physical therapy at Grandview Hospital 700 Lawn Avenue
Sellersville, PA 18960. In about a year I was running 2 miles again!

“Witty added that Thompson was among those who "tried their best for those they serve.” EVERYONE KNOWS THIS IS WEASEL TALK. THOMPSON DOES NOT SERVE THE INSURED. THOMPSON SERVES INVESTORS & HIMSELF.
"The op-ed received over 2,400 comments before the comments section was closed. Many of the responses were of readers unconvinced by Witty's statements.
Among the top recommended comments came from Ralph from Naples, Fla., who wrote, "I have read this twice, and in essence it says nothing. What is he proposing to change or improve?"
Another top comment came from Phil from London: "What happened to Mr Thompson was tragic, but to describe him as someone 'who was working to make health care better for everyone' is just patently false. He was working to maximize profits for the company's shareholders, that is the *sole* responsibility of a CEO and it continues to be the main reason why healthcare in the US is completely broken.”

"A prominent attorney who once served as a Manhattan chief assistant district attorney will represent Luigi Mangione as he faces murder charges in New York for the shooting death of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
Karen Friedman Agnifilo is currently working at Agnifilo Intrater, which specializes in "complex and sensitive criminal matters," according to its website.
The law group confirmed on Saturday that Mangione retained Friedman Agnifilo, adding that she "will not be making any statements at this time..."
Friedman Agnifilo worked as a prosecutor for much of her career before she went into private practice in 2021.
For seven years, she was the second-in-command at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office. She worked under Cyrus Vance Jr. — who was known for going after former film producer Harvey Weinstein, as well as President-elect Donald Trump.
At the Manhattan DA's office, Friedman Agnifilo prosecuted violent crime cases, including those that had "a mental health component," according to her law firm bio. She also served as the acting district attorney when Vance was out of the jurisdiction.
