Eisenhower Republicans are gone and “that fringe group in Arizona” of Eisenhower’s time now controls the Republican Party.
The decline of the middle class parallels the rise of the “Free Market” Republican Ideology, deregulation and tax breaks for the wealthy. The Republicans believe that everyone will forget the long period of prosperity of the New Deal, the brief economic recovery of the Clinton Administration and the total failure of the Bush Administration.
But the people of California along with nearly everyone else in the world don’t buy the insane extremist view. What is happening in California could change the direction of the Republican Party or lead it closer to falling into the graveyard of political parties.
There is a choice; the Republican hierarchy in California either allows moderate Republicans to campaign or California and most likely the US House of Representatives becomes Democratic.
See:
WITH PROPOSED NEW DISTRICT BOUNDARIES, REPUBLICANS MUST RECRUIT MORE MODERATE CANDIDATES AND FIND COMMON GROUND WITH MORE CALIFORNIANS, EXPERTS SAY.
But the coffin lid could fall on the Republican Party in August.
The Republican’s think they can vote no on extending the debt limit and allow the USA to default on loan obligations. And the plan is that because he is President of the USA, Obama will be blamed for the economic holocaust to follow.
Of course the insane right believes the “freemarket fairy” will wave its magic wand and the economic holocaust that sane people fear, will not happen.
The problem we all have with the insane leadership of the Republican Party is that in their concerted efforts to make Democrats look bad they will shut down the economic engine of America, plunging the still fragile worldwide economic recovery into what might become the “Greatest” Depression” and at least in this country "the great experiment in democracy” could be dead.

On John Boehner; ‘He’s growing into his shorts,’ Donohue said. “He’s put on his big boy pants.”
“There was lots of patting on the back at he Rotary Club of Atlanta’s luncheon Monday with Tom Donohue, president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, as the keynote speaker…
‘Because vehicles have become so much more fuel efficient, drivers — including truckers — have been paying about half of what they used to pay in gasoline taxes. More revenue is needed to properly maintain the nation’s roads and highways. Donohue proposed increasing the gas tax by 5 cents a year for four years.
To those who would oppose such a gas tax increase, Donohue’s message was simple. ‘Don’t pay it,’ he said. “Stay home.”
For much of his talk, Donohue was quite critical of the Obama administration. But he did praise the work that Jeffrey Immelt, CEO of GE (General Electric), is doing as head of Obama’s economic advisory panel.
In one of the funnier moments during his Rotary talk, Donohue was asked if Congress was going to raise the debt ceiling.
Yes, it will be raised, Donohue answered, mainly because the country can not afford to not pay its bills.
To those newly-elected representatives who say they aren’t going to raise the debt ceiling and will shut down government, Donohue said the U.S. Chamber has its own message: ‘We’ll get rid of you.’
He then went on to praise U.S. House Speaker John Boehner for his Congressional leadership.‘He’s growing into his shorts,’ Donohue said. 'He’s put on his big boy pants.”
