Public Corruption in Chester County, PA

I believe an unlikely mix of alleged drug trafficking related politicos and alleged white nationalist related politicos united to elect the infamous “Bloc of Four” in the abysmal voter turnout election of 2005. During their four year term the drug business was good again and white nationalists used Coatesville as an example on white supremacist websites like “Stormfront”. Strong community organization and support from law enforcement, in particular Chester County District Attorney Joseph W. Carroll has begun to turn our community around. The Chester County drug trafficking that I believe centers on Coatesville continues and I believe we still have public officials in place that profit from the drug sales. But the people here are amazing and continue to work against the odds to make Coatesville a good place to live.

Age of Crime Gun Possessor

I excerpted a part of the Youth Crime Gun Interdiction Initiative YCGIIA National Tracing Center (NTC)’s Crime Gun Trace Report 1999. It may be the latest report. In my opinion the ATF was severely neglected by the Bush Administration.

"Juvenile Possessors(ages 17 & Under)-- 9.3%
Youth Possessors (Ages 18-24) -------------- 34%
Adult Possessors (Ages 25 & Older)-------- 56.7%"

For information on one initiative that could be adapted locally to reduce youth gun violence, see this report:
"Gun Violence Programs: Directed Police Patrols

Directed police patrols were first tried in Kansas City, Mo., in the early 1990s. Kansas City police increased traffic enforcement within a neighborhood experiencing high levels of violent crime and, in doing so, seized 65 percent more illegal guns. This led to a 50-percent decrease in gun-related crime."
