On Election Day November 2008 I called Coatesville PD to Coatesville’s 1st Ward where an intoxicated man working for State Rep. Tim Hennessey was passing out Republican palm cards. He was assaulting people lined up to vote.
In Pennsylvania only PA State Constables are permitted to make arrests at polling places.
Constables are the only peace officers permitted at the polls on Election Day. In fact this duty is mandated upon constables; failure to protect the polls, or provide for their protection through appointed deputies, is punishable with a fine. Constables may serve the court, but are not required to.
Keith Gargus meets Governor Ed Rendell at United Steelworkers, Charles Street, Coatesville, PA |
He called Coatesville Police and told them to follow what I would tell them and handed his phone to me. I told the officer about Hennessey’s employee assaulting voters.
I got to the West End just as an officer pulled up. Keith Gargus a local Democratic volunteer waved him off.
An Obama staffer talked down Hennessey’s unruly campaign worker. He was cordial to voters the rest of the day.
The Chester County Democratic Committee members in Coatesville witnessed the best operated political campaign we ever had.
Abandoning Obama’s OFA left Trump alone on a superhighway to voters. Fake populist Donald Trump accelerated around the gridlocked RNC & DNC.
Obama’s OFA got it outstandingly correct. Now OAC, Bernie Sanders & Nina Turner are picking up the ashes of Organizing For America to bring voters directly into campaign financing.

I don’t know much about Ms. O’Malley. I do know that at the time Obama 08 was the very best run campaign since FDR.
Politico’s article is reflects ordinary Democratic Party & Republican Party corporate pay to play policy. The problem is it’s erudite nonsense designed to perpetuate the lock professional, heads I win tails you lose, I get paid either way campaign organizers have on political committees.
Democrats have paid professional campaign organizer/grifters to lose elections for decades.
Republicans paid them to win elections, until Donald Trump brought his campaign directly to voters.
“Some state party officials aren’t hapBiden campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon placed in charge of the president-elect’s political portfolio.
“I do not perceive Ms. O'Malley Dillon as being an ally to the grassroots,” said Colorado-based DNC member Jeri Shepherd. “I would like to be proven wrong.”
State party leaders complain of being underfunded during that period, and point to Dillon as the person negotiating with them at the national committee. Biden’s rollout of his slate of DNC officers last week — which some party officials complained came without adequate consultation — was viewed as a throwback to that era.
“All of us are wary of Jen Dillon and how she managed this for Obama, and it appears to be the same operating procedures,” said a DNC member who requested anonymity to speak freely. “There is no love there on either side. … She’s a Beltway person, not a grassroots investor, and treats us all like village idiots frankly.”
