Public Corruption in Chester County, PA

I believe an unlikely mix of alleged drug trafficking related politicos and alleged white nationalist related politicos united to elect the infamous “Bloc of Four” in the abysmal voter turnout election of 2005. During their four year term the drug business was good again and white nationalists used Coatesville as an example on white supremacist websites like “Stormfront”. Strong community organization and support from law enforcement, in particular Chester County District Attorney Joseph W. Carroll has begun to turn our community around. The Chester County drug trafficking that I believe centers on Coatesville continues and I believe we still have public officials in place that profit from the drug sales. But the people here are amazing and continue to work against the odds to make Coatesville a good place to live.

Do some people in Coatesville want less police?

Hopefully the Coatesville City Council will not balance the budget by laying off police.

There have been Coatesville City Councilpersons who while not being actively involved with the drug trade do allegedly appear to view selling drugs as a legitimate business. See:

I believe there is a secondary cash economy in Chester County funded by drug money.

I think some Coatesville residents sell drugs now and then to "safe" buyers when their legal income won't pay the bills. In the past some city council members allegedly believe doing so is a legitimate way to support a family. See "Ray's support for drug dealer a concern for city"

I believe "goodwill" drug money gets in collection plates in local churches whether or not the minister approves.

see "Gang Leader for a Day

"A rich portrait of the urban poor, drawn not from statistics but from vivid tales of their lives and his, and how they intertwined."
The Economist

I believe drug dealer sons give money to their mothers, sisters, cousins. Taken together with "good will"donations to churches and look the other way money given to public officials it mounts up to a considerable amount of cash. I think that cash payments to buy cars at local dealers, wide screen TVs at electronic stores, bedroom sets at furniture stores, vacations to the islands and meals at restaurants in the Coatesville area might originate from drug sales.  I think that if the influx of cash originating in drug sales were to suddenly stop coming there would be a recession in the local economy.
