"Asher Edelman, an investor who was one of the inspirations for the nefarious corporate raider Gordon Gekko in the movie "Wall Street," made a surprise presidential endorsement on CNBC's Fast Money last week: He came out swinging for democrat Bernie Sanders. 

Most interesting was Edelman's reason for supporting Sanders (emphasis ours):

'Well, I think it's quite simple again. If you look at something called velocity of money, you guys know what that is I presume, that means how much gets spent and turns around. When you have the top 1% getting money, they spend 5-10% of what they earn. When you have the lower end of the economy getting money, they spend 100-110% of what they earn. 

As you've had a transfer of wealth to the top and a transfer of income to the top, you have a shrinking consumer base basically, and you have a shrinking velocity of money. Bernie is the only person out there who I think is talking at all about both fiscal stimulation and banking rules that will get the banks to begin to generate lending again as opposed to speculation.'

Velocity of money is a central concept in macroeconomics. Velocity represents how often the average dollar is used in a transaction in a given period of time. A higher velocity of money implies more economic activity going on."

"ALVARO BEDOYA HAS been working on surveillance, privacy, and technology in Washington for years now. Before founding Georgetown Law’s Center on Privacy & Technology, he served as chief counsel to Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., and the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Privacy, Technology, and the Law.

But as surveillance became a major national issue thanks to NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, Bedoya saw something disturbing amid the Washington wonkery: a huge gulf between the discussions of government spying, on the one hand, and aggressive policing tactics in minority communities on the other.

“We’re having these two separate debates that are running in parallel and never intersecting,” Bedoya explains. “There’s no recognition that those issues constantly overlap. The level of policing of the black community is facilitated by the surveillance laws and surveillance technology developed for the war on terror.”

Today’s much anticipated all-day conference, “The Color of Surveillance: Government Monitoring of the African American Community,” is an attempt to bridge the gulf. The conference, organized by Bedoya and Georgetown Law professor Paul Butler, runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, and is being live streamed here, hashtag #ColorofSurveillance.

In January, Bedoya wrote an essay in Slate exploring the history of FBI surveillance of activists and people of color, using the example of Martin Luther King Jr., and how those practices have advanced with technology."

I think it’s certain that public officials in the United States will be indicted in these criminal investigations. 

Will it touch the presidential elections?

It seems the only presidential candidates not effected by either scandal are Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump

Doing wheelies past the Valley Township Police Station begins at 5:15. Most of the video is trail riding.



You might hear them riding in the woods but you usually see them doing wheelies down Lincoln Highway between 3rd. Avenue continuing west on Lincoln Highway. I believe they go from the north hills of Coatesville to the trails in Valley Township.


Mostly trail riding some railroad bed riding. I think along the tracks that go from Valley Township to along the West Branch Brandywine Creek in back of the Coatesville Marriott Courtyard Hotel.

The money the Koch Brothers and “Americans for Prosperity” threw into inventing and promoting the Teabaggers to use against health insurance reform has taken on a life of its own that is growing increasingly violent. The intent was to ride on extremist views for their support in elections. Now potentially violent extremist groups have taken up the anti-health care banner and those extremist groups have been assimilated into the GOP.There are now potential American terrorists within the GOP; they are the new base of the Republican Party. The explosive growth of extremism in America is partly due to the advertising and logistical support extremist ideology received from Republican supporters like the Koch Brothers. They have created a monster.

The alleged extremist takeover of the Republican “Base” may signal the end of the traditional Republican Party and Democrats might overrun the GOP in national politics and also most state and local politics because of it. But before anyone begins to celebrate you have to consider that some of the extremists blow up and shoot up people. Some of them are domestic terrorists.

Remember the guy with the teabags on his hat at the 2005 Elections?

Somehow the press is surprised by it. Why is it that it was plain as day to me 7 years ago.

I guess it’s the “Beltway Bubble” or the need for reporters to have access to public officials keeping them from digging deeper into reality and possibly offending the public official. 

The people that traditionally finance politicians and political parties are the same people that own the large newspapers and most of the small newspapers in the United States. The same people own the cable news companies and broadcast news companies. Because of the stranglehold of the political elite on news and political contributions it’s nearly impossible to get accurate detailed news about elections from United States traditional news sources. 

You need to go overseas. You will find things not reported on in U.S. traditional news. 

The Guardian is good. Al Jazeera is good. 

Internet sites are good. 

The best one is “The Young Turks”

But even those news sources don't see things the way I do. They're connecting political dots. I connect political dots, right wing extremist terrorist dots and the now inconsequential left wing extremists. 

Other than religion I see no difference in right wing terrorists and Islamic terrorists. Some right wing terrorists and islamic terrorists trade information. GOP politics mixes with Islamic and right wing terrorism in Sara and Todd Palin's Alaska Independence Party and Chechen separatists.

Governor Wolf has been shackled by the Tea Party controlled anti-public education Pennsylvania Republican Party. Another Tom Corbett anti-education, anti-infrastructure budget has been forced on Pennsylvanians.

K through 12 public schools are forced to raise local taxes and increase class sizes.

Higher education is forced to increase tuition already unaffordable to middle class Pennsylvanians.
