Public Corruption in Chester County, PA

I believe an unlikely mix of alleged drug trafficking related politicos and alleged white nationalist related politicos united to elect the infamous “Bloc of Four” in the abysmal voter turnout election of 2005. During their four year term the drug business was good again and white nationalists used Coatesville as an example on white supremacist websites like “Stormfront”. Strong community organization and support from law enforcement, in particular Chester County District Attorney Joseph W. Carroll has begun to turn our community around. The Chester County drug trafficking that I believe centers on Coatesville continues and I believe we still have public officials in place that profit from the drug sales. But the people here are amazing and continue to work against the odds to make Coatesville a good place to live.

Put on your SWASTIKA ARMBAND & head on over to the FREEDOMPALOOZA in Kintnersville, Pa.

"The organizer of the upcoming Freedompalooza 2013, 'an annual festival committed to the fight for freedom' and 'restoring our Republic,' is a man who says the Nazi Holocaust never occurred, that “Bolshevik” Jews should be removed from American cities, and that it might be time to drop a nuclear bomb on Israel.
But that hasn’t stopped Paul Topete, lead singer of a band called Pokerface, from claiming a long array of speakers at his July 4-6 event in Kintnersville, Pa., including former members of Congress Cynthia McKinney of Georgia and James Traficant of Ohio. Neither McKinney nor Traficant could be reached, though both have trafficked in the kinds of conspiracy theories that are popular in the antigovernment 'Patriot' movement of which Topete is a part."

“The host of Freedompalooza is musician Paul Topete who, along with his band, Poker Face, have become popular faces at patriotic gatherings across the United States.
The event will begin early Thursday evening (the Fourth of July) at 7 p.m. with musical entertainment and will wrap up Saturday afternoon.
The gathering will be held at the grounds outside Johnny Mac’s American Grill in upper Bucks County where Route 611 and Route 32 meet at the bridge over the Delaware River. The address is 9755 Easton Road, Kintnersville, Pa. 18930.
[Route 66 is accessible by the intersecting roads of Route 22, I-78 and I-276 (East-West Pennsylvania Turnpike). From Philadelphhia: Take Route 611 (Broad Street) North for approximately 45 minutes. From Easton: Take Route 611 South for fifteen minutes.]
Three days and nights of camping, music and chats around the bonfire, this is a family-oriented event.”

Edward Snowden worked for Booz Allen Hamilton. Raj works for Northrop Grumman

Remember the City of Coatesville's IT specialist hired by Harry Walker named Raj?

Raj now works as an IT specialist for Northrop Grumman.

"Some news reports have focused on how such a “low level” contract employee could possibly have access to such secret material. But to me the greater revelation is what he has said about his employer. Thanks to Snowden, we now know that Booz Allen operates at the highest levels of the world’s most powerful intelligence-gathering organization and is engaged in operations that many Americans believe are unconstitutional and dangerous. We can only assume that the other companies at these heights—a list that includes SAIC, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, CSC, CACI, ManTech and many others—are doing the same.
If that is so, then tens of thousands of Americans working for private intelligence contractors have access to the personal information of millions of their fellow citizens, including their phone and e-mail communications as well Internet chats on Yahoo, Google and other ISPs. Combine this private army of contractors with the outlandishly huge federal intelligence bureaucracy, and the term Stasi—the East German secret police frequently invoked by Bill Binney—doesn’t sound like an exaggeration. Except this is state surveillance plus capitalism: spying for profit."

I like Coatesville City Councilman Ed Simpson's Idea

"The solution proposed Monday night would have had the city borrow $1.4 million from a trust fund set up after the sale of the Coatesville’s water and wastewater system assets. The money borrowed would be used for various expenses on an as-needed basis.
Council Member Ed Simpson felt that by doing so, they were just delaying the inevitable. Instead, he wants taxes increased to deal with the deficit, as council would eventually have to raise taxes anyway.
“The reality is the cost of services goes up every year,” he said.
Simpson said that the trust fund money could then be used to invest in businesses that could make money for the city.
“We need to find ways that we can invest that money to benefit the city to make it a destination for some of the year or increase revenue or increase taxes,” he suggested.
Simpson said that Coatesville could, for example, invest in the velodrome project to generate income for the city."
I really, really like what Ed said last night.

“The Wire” and what happens when peace is declared in the war on drugs

I think “The Wire” is the best that Television has ever done. Maybe something better could come along.  David Simon is producing “Treme” on HBO.
Some scenes on The Wire were frightening to me, because I knew that I could walk down the street and see about the same thing for real.
Below is an interview on Bill Moyers’ Journal with David Simon one of the producers of “The Wire”:
Since this interview was aired in 2009 there has been change but mostly for the worse.
Because of the economic non-recovery, lower class middle class have become part of the underclass. Selling drugs as a way to make ends meet is not just inner city anymore. It’s in the suburbs and in the wide-open spaces of the American West and among white and brown people.
Late in 2009 we discovered that drug money saved the world from total economic collapse:

Drugs and crime chief says $352bn in criminal proceeds was effectively laundered by financial institutions
The underground drug economy and the above board economy met again in the news a few months ago:

FBI:Drug Cartels Use Bank of America to Launder Money

Since 2009 drug trafficking has added several  $Billions to the already enormous and difficult to estimate underground economy that’s fueled by illegal drug sales. At least ½ of illegal drug sales happen in the USA.
Maybe the end is in sight. It seems like “peace talks” have begun for the “War on Drugs”. Prohibition for at least marijuana seems to be near to an end.
So what is the ever-growing economic underclass, which if you believe Mitt Romney  is about 47% of the US population going to do when drugs are legal and no money can be made on the corner?

I think David Simon has an answer:

In the interview below BILL MOYERS asks:

“The character in that excerpt we just saw says, "What's the answer?" Do you have the answer after all these years?

DAVID SIMON: Oh, I would decriminalize drugs in a heartbeat. I would put all the interdiction money, all the incarceration money, all the enforcement money, all of the pretrial, all the prep, all of that cash, I would hurl it, as fast as I could, into drug treatment and job training and jobs programs. I would rather turn these neighborhoods inward with jobs programs. Even if it was the equivalent of the urban CCC, if it was New Deal-type logic, it would be doing less damage than creating a war syndrome, where we're basically

treating our underclass. The drug war's war on the underclass now. That's all it is. It has no other meaning.”
