For Republicans “treason” is disloyalty to the Republican Party. In Nazi Germany treason was disloyalty to the Nazi Party. My Uncles that fought in World War II had a different idea of what treason was.

“Today’s Republican Party, led by Donald Trump, has lost all understanding of what the words “traitor” and “treason” really mean. Host and Navy veteran Ken Harbaugh shows how the GOP has become obsessed with enforcing tribal loyalty, accusing its own members of treason and abandoning any pretense of preserving democracy.”

My Uncle Earl fought in MacArthur’s Army. He said they would shoot centipedes with their M1 rifles on New Guinea.

My Uncle Lou was a sergeant in Patton’s Army. His jeep ran out of gas and he got lost in “The Battle of the Bulge.”

My Uncle Len was stationed in Rome where he decided that when the war was over he would marry an Italian girl.

They would talk about funny stuff that happened but nothing more.

My Uncle Fred said nothing at all about WWII.

My Aunts said “Freddy had it bad.” My Uncle Fred was a combat engineer who landed on Omaha Beach

“The Allied plan called for initial assault waves of tanks, infantry, and combat engineer forces to reduce the coastal defenses, allowing larger ships to land in follow-up waves."
