Coatesville Police reports (press release) stopped for about 10 years-Restarted in 2013

Newspapers routinely publish police reports.
The "Herald" was hand set. At one time a Linotype machine was required. Now it’s copy & paste.

All local Chester County police departments now issue police reports, BUT ONLY SINCE 2013.
Most people didn’t notice that at least, from 2004 to 2013, there were no police reports from the City of Coatesville PD in the Daily Local News or in any newspaper.
Beginning some time late in the 20th Century or early in the 21st Century until 2013 reports of muggings and most store robberies in Coatesville came through word of mouth. A few Coatesville store robberies were published through the Chester County District Attorney's Office.

I published the armed robbery of the Walgreens Store in Coatesville. There was nothing in the Daily Local News. It was not reported anywhere else:

Armed robbery at Walgreens in Coatesville today UPDATE
Reports of major crimes in Coatesville were released by the District Attorney’s Office of Chester County and by The United States Attorney’s Office Eastern District of Pennsylvania, but nothing from the City of Coatesville PD.

On some occasions the City of Coatesville made the New York Times:
A City Adds a String of Arsons to Its List of Troubles
By IAN URBINAJAN. 28, 2009

Coatesville PD began to issue police reports early in 2013 after Jack Laufer was sworn in as Coatesville Police Chief.
