Testing flash for bird feeders, Nikon Zf 40mm autofocus lens and older 50mm F mount lens on Nikon Zf

The bird feeders are always in shadow. The sun is on the south side of our house and throws a shadow on the north side. We usually can’t see colors & only identify birds by silhouette & behavior.

It’s overcast today & you can see the feeders. No birds but this is only a test.

4 Photos:

First one is without flash.

Second with flash on Nikon 40 mm. Z Mount autofocus lens.

Third older 50mm. Nikon F mount lens.

Fourth detached flash on windowsill pointed at bird feeders.

The flash is an older Amazon Basics.

The off camera syncronzation is NEEWER.

I might get a better flash with high speed sync.

This is my camera:

It looks like the Nikon FE film camera I've used for decades.
