The seeds for the Koch Networks Tea Party were unknowingly sowed over ground primed for revolution.

The Koch Network is dominated by multi-billionaires whose fortunes are stored underground in coal, oil and gas deposits.

Their gilded lifestyles depend on the continued use of fossil fuel.

Global warming and the obvious need to discontinue the of the use of fossil fuel is a direct challenge to their fortunes.

When David & Koch created the Tea Party it was to move the country away from fear of global warming to fear of government taking their freedom and their guns away.

Their plan worked:

“Similarly, Gallup data suggest that the share of Americans who accept the science of climate change steadily increased from 48 percent in 1998 up to 61 percent in 2008, but then dramatically fell, reaching a low of 49 percent in 2011, at the height of the denial campaign.
The overwhelming influence of the Koch brothers and their allies has shifted climate change from a bipartisan priority to a political non-starter. However, many elite pundits have still failed to recognize this. A recent piece by New York Magazine columnist Jonathan Chait entitled “Why Are Republicans the Only Climate-Science-Denying Party in the World?” doesn’t include a single reference to powerful moneyed interests. Instead, Chait has spent more time bashing the Keystone XL pipeline protestors.”

Moneyed interests are blocking US action on climate change
The Koch brothers and their allies have used their wealth to undermine science and block consensus

Michael Mann is a professor of meteorology and geoscience at Penn State University.

Dr. Mann was a Lead Author on the Observed Climate Variability and Change chapter of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Third Scientific Assessment Report in 2001 and was organizing committee chair for the National Academy of Sciences Frontiers of Science in 2003.

"What we didn't take into account" Mann later noted, "was the ferociousness of the moneyed interests and the politicians doing their bidding. We were talking about a direct challenge to the most powerful industry that is ever existed on the face of the earth. There's  no depth to which they're unwilling to sink to challenge anything threatening their interests even if it's science and the scientists involved in it"
If there was a single ultra-wealthy interest group that hoped to see Obama fail as he  took office, it was the fossil fuel industry.
For most of the world's population the costs of an action on climate change were for greater than those of action but for the fossil fuel industry, as Mann put it, " It's  like a switch from whale oil in the 19th century they're fighting to maintain the status quo, the matter how dumb."

Like the whaling industry before it the Koch brothers and the fossil fuel industry are doomed. The only question is how long will we continue to enable the fossil fuel industry? Will we end it before global warming destroys human existence?

The Tea Party was created to preserve the fortunes of those fossil fuel multi-billionaires, but something unanticipated happened:

The Koch Network didn't create angry people ready for revolutionary change. They brought them together. They gave them a taste of their power.

The revolutionary change the people desire would take down not only the fossil fuel industry, but also their fellow travelers in the exploitation of the common man on Wall Street.

I think Bruce Springsteen’s “Jack of All Trades” best expresses the revolutionary movement. A revolutionary movement that is not at all confined to the United States.

I put what I think is the most important line in bold type:
"...The banker man grows fat, working man grows thin
It’s all happened before and it’ll happen again
It’ll happen again, yeah they’ll bet your life
I’m a jack of all trades, darling we’ll be all right
Now sometimes tomorrow comes soaked in treasure and blood
We stood the drought, now we’ll stand the flood
There’s a new world coming, I can see the light
I’m a jack of all trades, we’ll be all right
So you use what you’ve got and you learn to make do
You take the old, you make it new
If I had me a gun, I’d find the bastards and shoot ’em on sight
I’m a jack of all trades, we’ll be all right
I’m a jack of all trades, we’ll be all right"

Bernie Sanders could bring on that revolutionary change within our democratic government.

But Bernie Sanders might not win the Democratic nomination.

And any other candidate could precipitate a revolution that’s not desirable.

Not a political revolution but an armed revolution.
