Where does the money come from to finance political extremists in Chester County? & Wealthy people are as easily conned by extremists as the people that listen to Fox News.

I believe that most extremist leaders, be they religious extremists, anti-government militia leaders, or white supremacists are basically con-men. 

Extremist leaders have a knack for expressing extremist beliefs and they may even believe some of what they say. I believe they feel self important at political/extremist events. But I think they lead extremist organizations mostly for the money they can con out of wealthy people.

What is the? "Society for the Protection of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP) 

On the TFP website, they state, "Mr. Weyrich [SEE American Legislative Exchange Council below] also a good friend of the American TFP. Since the early eighties, he regularly met with Mr. Mario Navarro da Costa of the TFP Washington Bureau, with whom he traveled on several occasions to Latin America and Europe, visiting the local TFPs and being introduced to their networks of friends. He also visited the Brazilian TFP in 1988, and met with its founder Prof. Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira. Over the years, Mr. Weyrich has proven to be an invaluable friend." 

So, what is TFP, and who was Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira? The latter was a Brazilian extremist and self-styled "prophet," founder of a "crusade" against agrarian reform and "Communism," which openly calls for the implementation of a world-wide "Christian" regime based on Medieval hierarchy and repression. This "crusade" is called Tradition, Family and Property (TFP). Plinio was the author of 15 books and over 2,500 essays and articles. His works include: In Defense of Catholic Action, Revolution and Counter-Revolution, The Church and the Communist State: The Impossible Coexistence, Nobility and Analogous Traditional Elites in the Allocutions of Pius XII, and many others. 

The militant followers, who would come to receive his blessing, had to prostrate themselves in front of Plinio with their foreheads touching the ground; they would then kiss the armchair Plinio usually sat on. This odd right-wing organization, unlike no other, publicly holds that the rich are better than the poor."

The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) – founded in 1973 by right wing extremist Paul Weyrich.

But because some wealthy Chester County residents have supported religious and white supremacist extremists it doesn't mean they are entirely on board with the TFP, John Birch Society, American Renaissance and extremist patriot groups that are arming themselves against government. 
Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira the founder of the Society for the Protection of Tradition, Family and Property was active from 1933 to 1996. There is a much older conservative value running through the Republican party. The Republican conservative values of Theodore Roosevelt.

The very same people who support the Society for the Protection of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP) are into conservation and preservation of land and water. 

I think you will find them in the forefront of the anti-pipeline battles now raging in Chester County.

CURWOOD: In Texas, Democrats have hopes they can turn that red state, blue. And now, some conservatives are also looking for a change in color, but to green. Carl Lindemann writes for the Texas Observer, and has our report from Austin. 

LINDEMANN: It's been more than a century since Republican Teddy Roosevelt made conservation a conservative cause. But what's old is new for Debbie Dooley, the founder of the Georgia-based Green Tea Coalition and national coordinator of the Tea Party Patriots. LINDEMANN: Dooley also argues that moving towards a decentralized power grid is key for national security. Rooftop solar on millions of homes is a tough target for terrorists, unlike traditional power plants, oil refineries and the like."
