We have "decoys" in Chester County, but in Montana they are for real. I'm talking about politics not ducks.

This SPLC "HATEWATCH" article is about Republicans masquerading as "Democrats".

Republicans run as Democrats as a way to take votes from a Democrat that could win against a Republican. In Chester County they are plausible Democrats. That is they say things that a real Democrat might say. But they are not on the ballot to win. They are on the ballot to take votes from real candidates, so the name "decoys".

But the "Democrats" in Montana are real candidates. Right wing extremist "Tea Party" "Patriot" Republicans that want to win elections as Democrats. And there are a lot of them:

"Chief among the new crop of candidates is Michael Comstock, a well-known local Tea Party activist and antigovernment “Patriot” movement organizer who has run previously as a Republican. This year, he filed to run in the Democratic primary for the state Senate seat in District 24, a seat currently held by Republican incumbent Roger Webb, who is running for re-election.
Comstock claimed during an interview with KCFW-TV in Bozeman that he’s a mainstream Democrat in the tradition of John F. Kennedy and Montana icon Mike Mansfield, and more mainstream than his primary opponent, Democratic activist and educator April Buonamici. But as the blogger Montana Cowgirl observed in her posts calling out Comstock and the other candidates, no one in Bozeman who knows Comstock is fooled by this, since he has been a colorful figure on the local political scene for many years:
Comstock’s main focus is his concern about a possible takeover by ‘a one-world UN controlled government,’ the Bozeman Chronicle has reported.  In his campaign literature and on Facebook, he says he is worried about the impending collapse of civilization.  He proudly calls himself ‘a Tea Party extremist’ and believes the Muppets have ‘sold out to socialism and bad behavior."

That "main focus is his concern about a possible takeover by ‘a one-world UN controlled government," sounds to me like once Coatesville resident and 2 times PA 6th District Congressional candidate Pat Sellers. But he ran as a Republican.
Hopefully no John Birch Society type Republicans will try running as Democrats in Chester County.

"The election season has just begun and already there is a nasty plot afoot in Gallatin county, hatched by the local conservatives.  It’s dirty, below-the-belt, highly dishonest stuff.  Embarrassed at the fact that they have become a national joke, the right-wing of the conservative movement has resorted to an attempt to invade and infect the Democratic Party, Trojan Horse style, and take it over. Let’s take a closer look at exactly what’s happening.

This year a bunch of  local Tea Partiers filed paperwork to run as Democrats for local legislative races. And unless the Gallatin democrats undertake a campaign to inform voters not to vote for these candidates, these imbeciles will succeed in deceiving the voters and will take seats in the 2015 legislature that the voters intended to be filled by democrats.

Let’s take a look at who they are."
