"Coatesville Citizen's Survey" Police Department

"The intent of this survey is to gather your perspective of the quality of service that the Police Department has provided. This survey is part of our efforts to improve communications between the Police Department and the Community."

Coatesville Citizen's Survey

The police force under Dominick Bellizzie was about as community friendly as a police force can get. Chief Bellizzie listened to community leaders and put their ideas into action. I think a tradition or legacy from that time has stuck with the Coatesville PD.

In my own experience the only time Coatesville citizens have real problems with police being abusive or disrespecting law abiding citizens is when officers from outside of Coatesville are called in to assist Coatesville Police and the outside officers were allegedly disrespectful.

Our police officers have been rapidly, way to rapidly laid off to save money. We lost key officers and detectives. We need to keep a police force that is responsive to the citizens of our community. Hopefully our new chief will keep the tradition of serving the community the Coatesville PD now has.

Part time officers may not come to our city with the same respect for our citizens that was drummed into our legacy officers. Police not aware of the community they are policing do more harm than good.

I know that there is a tremendous effort by particular Coatesville PD officers to maintain the Community Policing in Coatesville.

Once police stop listening to and being respectful to citizens they become little more than an occupying army at war with the community. I don't think that can happen in Coatesville.
