Coatesville City Council meeting tonight

The meeting is at Coatesville City Hall, 1 City Hall Place, Coatesville, PA. 7:30pm.
According to the agenda, Arvilla Hunt’s “pal” Chief Bell will be sworn in as temp. Chief.
I believe there will also be a selection of a Chief of Police from 2 finalists.  Both of the finalists are rumored to be former City of Philadelphia police officers.
It seems that no Black individuals applied to be Chief of Police in Coatesville. I believe that it's still hard for a Black man or woman to move up the chain of command in many police departments. So there just aren't many qualified Black men or women around for the job of Chief in Coatesville.
I don't like the fact with the exception of Pennsylvania Cities like Philadelphia it's difficult for non-white officers to get promotions. And in turn it’s difficult to find qualified Black officers for the Chief of Police position in Coatesville.
But that doesn't mean we need to settle for an unqualified chief in order to get a non-White chief.
For almost the same reasons that it's difficult to find people of color for the Chief of Police in Coatesville in suburban Pennsylvania it's hard to find a qualified city manager that is of color.

Coatesville is in a terrible, terrible mess. We need people of extraordinary ability that can and have turned small towns around. That person would certainly not be someone who can be bossed around by a city council.
It seems that an alleged “Shadow City Council led by three Black City Council members and several community members has been meeting since March. I believe that the alleged “Shadow Council” has an agenda to put a Black face on the leadership in City Government.
I live in a part of Coatesville that has more expensive properties (for Coatesville) and the taxes that go with expensive properties. After many years of waiting for the “revitalization” of Coatesville my neighbors are giving up and moving out. They are well aware that Coatesville has an exceptionally high crime rate. Sometimes they are so desperate to get out that they don’t bother selling their Coatesville home before they buy another.
I would be happy to pay higher taxes to get a good Coatesville PD that can keep a lid on our runaway crime rate here. The last thing we need here is to balance the budget by laying off/giving early retirement to our senior and well paid police officers. And especially laying them off all at once to get a boost for the budget. That layoff of senior officers had to be a real profit booster for Chester Counties drug businesses.
There are things designed long ago like the train station that will improve the town. Because City Council decided we don’t need many police people who ride the train from Coatesville will have to put up with being mugged.
We don't have the luxury of diddling with a Coatesville City Council run by blowhards with crony agendas and zero ability and zero knowledge of municipal government We need a Coatesville City Council who will work to get our city out of the terrible mess it's in.

The last mostly Black Coatesville City Government here in Coatesville brought disaster and sorrow to the people of Coatesville. That mostly Black led Coatesville Government came about with the election of the “Bloc of Four”.
The person who I believe engineered the election of the “Bloc of Four” was John Birch SocietyCharter Member Patrick Sellers. Mr. Sellers also writes to the “American Renaissance” Magazine. “American Renaissance magazine and website, which according to the Southern Poverty Law Center regularly feature proponents of eugenics and blatant anti-black racists.”
To my knowledge Mr. “John Birch Society” Sellers went around Coatesville interviewing mostly Black people with the qualities he desired. I believe he selected Black people who had the best chance of failing miserably once they were in office. I heard him giggle when he said, “I wouldn’t have believed that Patsy Ray could actually win her election.”
See:

Why do you think a guy like Pat Sellers wanted Patsy Ray in office?

I can imagine that Pat was filled with pride when he heard that his personally selected and promoted Black-led government let their town nearly burn down. I can imagine him bragging to all of his White Nationalists friends.
