Coach Walt Washington Steel City Striders/Coatesville Striders New Orleans Junior Olympic Games Tad Gormley Stadium

Walt Washington Coach of the Steel City Striders/Coatesville Striders speaking to the Coatesville City Council on Monday July 11, 2011:
Coach Washington does not have a 501 C (non taxed corporation) he coaches as a volunteer on the side. This is his third year.
He is looking for donations for the Steel City Striders. He would like to keep the club in operating in Coatesville. Five Coatesville runners qualify for Nationals. Twenty of his kids are running for a West Chester track club because they can’t get the backing in Coatesville.
Coach Washington asked Coatesville City Council if they could help our kids get down to New Orleans to participate in the National Junior Olympic Games.

“Thank ya'll for helping with getting these kids down to New Orleans for the National Junior Olympic Meet..July 29th-Aug 6th
The five kids who made it are:

Siani Richardson       100m & 200m
Jordyn Worthington  100m, 200m & 400m
Ed Clark                  40m
Mekhi Wilson           Pentathlon Multi-Events 80m Hurdles, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put & 1500m
Michael Davis III      Pentathlon Multi-Events 100m Hurdles, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put & 1500m

Roughly around 1200 dollars will pay for Registration and Hotel. The Sooner we book the cheaper the cost:
$45.00 dollars per child for Registration
$63.99 per night as of right now...could change by the time we get the donations in. And these are AAU discounts for us.
