Police: Robbery by two juveniles interrupted
Muggings are and have been for many years regular events in Coatesville. What's different are police reports.
A women repeatedly came to Coatesville City Council meetings to complain about the everyday threat of being mugged that she faced. Her pleas for the Council to do something were met with cutbacks to the police department. She came back one day to say that she sold her home and moved out of Coatesville.
Because of what might be called a “gag order” on Coatesville Police by City Manager Harry Walker, lesser reported crimes like armed robbery and muggings require reporters to dig through Magisterial Court Records. Many crimes go unreported in the news.

In a phone call from his car in 2006 Tom Hogan said to me that "Coatesville was ready to turn over and then these new guys came in." Revitalizing Coatesville and bringing in 7,000 new people unrelated to Coatesville's existing population would have ended Coatesville's position as the Drug Depot of Chester County.
By drug depot of Chester County I mean that drugs come here and are distributed thru-out the county. The drugs get used by white kids in the suburbs while the violence stays in Coatesville.
Former Coatesville City Manager Paul G. Janssen Jr. said the first thing we need to do is make the streets safe. I believe he was hounded by Chester County's drug cartels ever since.
One of the first things the "Bloc of Four" did was to get rid of Paul Janssen's pick for chief of police, Dominick Bellizzie, a very effective Coatesville Chief of Police and replace him with a "hood approved" chief.
I think Paul Janssen was run out of town by a coalition of Chester County's drug cartels and John Birch Society members that believe downtown revival is a United Nations plot to take over the USA.
